Functional Testing & FCT

Verification of product functionality through automated test sequences, controlled stimuli, and application-specific limits. Used to confirm expected input/output functionality, interface integrity, and response under defined operating conditions.

System-Level Testing

Evaluation of the complete product or integrated subsystem in a configuration representative of real use. Includes interaction between electronics, software, communications, power domains, sensors, and control logic.

End-of-Line Testing

Final production-stage verification performed before shipment. Designed to confirm unit-level conformity while meeting cycle time, repeatability, traceability, and manufacturing integration requirements.

Environmental Testing

Assessment of product behavior under controlled thermal, mechanical, or climatic stress. Used to characterize operating stability, identify susceptibility to environmental exposure, and verify performance across expected use and/or extreme conditions.

HALT / HASS Testing

Accelerated test methods used to expose design weaknesses or latent defects through elevated stress profiles. HALT is typically applied during development to determine operating and destructive limits, while HASS is used in production as a controlled screening method.

Validation Testing

Structured testing performed to confirm that the product meets defined requirements, expected operating conditions, and program acceptance criteria. Based on documented procedures, measurable outputs, and requirement-driven test coverage.

Averna’s Custom Solution to Accelerate CGM R&D

To support the development of a next‑generation Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) device, Averna delivered an automated In Vitro Test System (IVTS) designed to replace time‑consuming manual testing during R&D. The objective was to generate reliable verification data while meeting strict medical accuracy and grant‑driven deadlines.

The test architecture is built on NI’s CompactDAQ for data acquisition, with LabVIEW‑based software to control test sequences and measurement logic. Averna Launch serves as the unified test executive, offering a medically validated framework and a simple interface that allows R&D teams to rapidly adapt test parameters as development evolves.
