Product Description

High-speed train testing can require normal onboard safety functions to be temporarily disabled or bypassed to validate vehicle behavior beyond normal operating conditions. In these situations, the test train needs an independent protection layer capable of reacting autonomously if the predefined safety envelope is exceeded.

Developed and deployed in collaboration with SNCF Connect, ESVE continuously compares train speed with its position on the track and automatically commands emergency braking when predefined limits are exceeded. Built on the proven U-TEST® real-time platform, it combines deterministic processing, railway-grade hardware, onboard diagnostics and data recording in a compact embedded system designed for demanding railway test environments.

Key Benefits

Provides an independent safety barrier when onboard train protections are unavailable during testing

Protects personnel, rolling stock and infrastructure through autonomous overspeed protection

Applies position-dependent speed limits throughout the test route

Long-term maintainability

Provides onboard diagnostics and event recordings for post-test analysis

Adaptable to future safety monitoring applications

Application Areas

automated test solutions for the railway industry
Railway
