Data Acquisition Systems

Averna outfits engineers and scientists with fully interfaced, turnkey data acquisition and control solutions. These solutions range from simple laboratory measurement and control setups with a few channels at low acquisition rates to the most demanding, mission-critical, distributed, and industrial-strength acquisition solutions.

Averna designs its data acquisition and control solutions using a choice selection of hardware components:

  • PC-based I/O hardware for cost-smart applications
  • PXI and VXI platforms for high-performance and large channel count systems
  • Distributed control and data acquisition hardware for industrially rugged solutions

Data Acquisition Systems

We develop custom software for these applications using proven software engineering methodology and industry-leading tools such as NI LabVIEW. Our engineering teams then integrate these solutions with the most appropriate signal conditioning and connectivity extensions. We verify, validate, and document all of our solutions internally before assisting our clients in the deployment and support phases.

With years of experience and hundreds of successful case studies behind them, our team of engineers is proudly raising the bar in the functionality and quality of cost-effective data acquisition and control applications, including:

  • Mission-critical, high availability control
  • High-performance data acquisition
  • Process monitoring and control
  • Instrumentation control and laboratory data acquisition
  • Custom dataloggers and alarm monitoring

Our commitment to leveraging commercial off-the-shelf technology with software and systems engineering disciplines has given our clients innovative and cost-smart approaches to control and data acquisition. Our scalable solutions range from systems built on MS Windows with a few channels at high rates, to very large count supervisory control solutions implemented with hard real-time architectures managing thousands of channels.

CDACS

CDACS is Averna’s large-scale, distributed data acquisition and supervisory control system. It consists of thousands of transducers, actuators, and third-party data dataloggers, and integrates them with configurable datalogging, secure system access, data extraction, and display features. CDACS is built on equipment by virtual instrumentation pioneer National Instruments, and equips facilities such as the Canadian Space Agency.
