URT Record & Playback scores award nomination

Recognizes the breakthrough system's contribution to innovation in manufacturing technologies

Averna is pleased to announce that its Universal Receiver Tester (URT) RF Signal Record & Playback System has been named a finalist for the 2008 Canadian Award for New Technology. This prestigious nomination, bestowed by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), recognizes the breakthrough system's contribution to innovation in Canadian manufacturing technologies. It forms a core part of Averna's strategy for helping RF device makers achieve mobile multimedia excellence.

The URT Record & Playback is a state-of-the-art system that empowers RF device manufacturers to efficiently record and play back live radio, video, and navigation signals and impairments. The most compact system on the market today, it offers in-lab repeatability that reduces field tests and increases productivity, changing the paradigm for how these manufacturers stay ahead of the RF signal convergence curve.

“Consumers today demand sophisticated RF devices that enhance the listening and viewing experience, increase safety, and provide superior traffic services,” said Jean-Yves Allard, vice president of research and development at Averna. “We have partnered with eminent technology leaders to create instruments such as the URT Record & Playback that help a growing number of automotive, radio, and in-vehicle entertainment and navigation system manufacturers answer the call.”

The 2008 Canadian Award for New Technology is supported by National Research Council – Industrial Research Assistance Program. This year, the candidate pool for this award was stronger than ever, with over 60 leading-edge companies submitting applications nationwide.
