Averna CEO Pascal Pilon named to Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™
Montreal, QC, May 1, 2009 ─ Global test engineering company Averna is proud to announce that President and CEO Pascal Pilon has been named a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™ for 2008. This prestigious award program honours 40 Canadians in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors under the age of 40, and is managed by founding sponsor The Caldwell Partners International. This accolade comes within weeks of Averna acquiring U.S. competitor DAQTron, the latest benchmark in the company’s steady growth as one of the largest communications test system providers in the world.
Mr. Pilon and his peers were selected from over 1100 nominees by an independent Advisory Board, comprised of 25 business leaders from across Canada. Honourees were chosen on five key criteria: vision and
leadership, innovation and achievement, impact, community involvement and contribution, and strategy for growth.
“We congratulate Pascal heartily on this well-earned achievement,” said Roger T. Duguay, vice president of marketing and human capital at Averna. “He has spent a decade building a dynamic team and challenging them to reach their personal best, while providing solid leadership when times were tough. A true workhorse, he is continually refining the company’s strategic positioning in order to boost customer and investor confidence as the company pursues and surpasses its growth objectives. One thing is clear: Pascal stepped on the accelerator in 1999 and has never let go.”
“I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition,” said Pascal Pilon. “The reason Averna has earned the trust of the world’s top electronics OEMs is that we understand the ecosystem created by the convergence of radio, video, and GPS signals in communications devices. It has been a joy to work with my talented colleagues to respond with multi-protocol, R&D-based instruments and test systems that improve product quality and enhance the user experience. I have made it a personal mission to teach up-and-coming entrepreneurs the value of embracing this type of long-term vision—and to always make sure I learn something from them as well.”
Earlier in 2009, Pascal Pilon won the SGF – CEO of the Year Award and the Prix Tremplin Entrepreneurship, two prizes that recognize achievement in the Quebec business and technology communities.
In addition to The Caldwell Partners, national sponsors of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™ include Deloitte, National Bank Financial, The Globe and Mail, and Air Canada.
