Senior/Junior Test Software Designer (Montreal and Toronto)
Part of the engineering team, the test software designer will be involved in test bench and acquisition system design in a multidisciplinary team, and will participate in different improvement activities related to the engineering department.
Responsibilities and main tasks:
- To conduct needs analyses for software development, while staying on schedule and within established budgets
- Design and develop test procedures and related documentation
- Consult with clients regarding system maintenance
- Coordinate computer system installation
- Apply the company's established techniques and programming standards in order to maintain a functional and standard methodology
- Participate actively in documentation, analysis, coding, and other activities related to software design
- Familiarize users with developed software
- Analyze, evaluate, and correct problems
- Plan, develop, and upgrade software and user interfaces
- Work in collaboration with other designers in order to develop alternate systems and software
- Install, configure, and test workstations.
Qualifications:
- College or university degree in computer or electrical engineering, or equivalent
- 0–2 years experience in software design, 5–10 years for senior position
- Knowledge in C/C++
- Experience in test bench design (i.e. test engineer) or real-time software design an asset
- Experience developing with LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and LabWindows CVI an asset
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English and French
- Structured and methodical approach
- Ability to write English and French technical documents related to modules developed
- Desire for continuous improvement, and to learn through self-training
- Autonomy, as well as a vibrant team spirit
- Professionalism, and strong communicative and interpersonal skills
- Passion for technology
- Willing and able to travel
